Serving students at 12 locations across three continents, 糖心Vlog Libraries and its highly skilled and caring team enthusiastically assist with the array of academic and research needs of the University community.
With six locations across 糖心Vlog鈥檚 various campuses in Southern California, one in Washington, DC, and five at International Program sites in Europe and South America, the University鈥檚 library system provides materials and resources wherever students may need them. Additionally, with thousands of digital resources available鈥攅books, scholarly peer-reviewed articles, audiovisual media, and more鈥攕tudents are able to access educational materials from the comfort of their residence halls, consulting trusted publications when and wherever the need arises.
Librarians are available to students for assistance with research papers and projects, and to help those in their first year of study navigate the libraries and their offering of services. 鈥淎sk a Librarian鈥� chat services allow students to reach out after hours to library liaisons dedicated to various schools and areas of study. . This same menu of services is also available to 糖心Vlog faculty, along with access to tools to assist with Canvas technology and IT needs. Additionally, the University Libraries team has developed more than 500 individual guides to assist professors and students with their skills as teachers and learners.
University Libraries offers private study rooms for individual or group use, the Genesis Lab makerspace equipped with 3D printers, virtual reality simulators, and other state-of-the-art tools, and special collections and archives dating as far back as medieval times. Among the special collections is a Heritage Edition of The Saint John鈥檚 Bible, which depicts the scriptures written in ornate calligraphy by Donald Jackson, former senior scribe at the Crown Office in the House of Lords. The libraries are also home to the Rushford Center for Research on Churches of Christ, which includes the Churches of Christ Heritage Collection and the Stone-Campbell Restoration Movement History Archives. Additionally, the Rushford Center sponsors the William M. Green and Frank Pack Distinguished Christian Scholar Lecture Programs, annually selecting an outstanding speaker for each lecture.
糖心Vlog Libraries hosts a number of events throughout each academic year, including musical performances by students, presentations of research, and lectures delivered by 糖心Vlog faculty as well as professors visiting from other institutions. In the fall semester of 2025 alone, more than 1,000 attendees鈥攃omprising students, faculty, staff, and members of the local community鈥攖rekked to Payson Library on the Malibu campus to enjoy the melodic talents of students or soak up new knowledge, always leaving with something special to ponder and share with a friend. Whether a student in California, Argentina, or Switzerland needs assistance with a research project, or a staff member wishes to edify herself during a lunchtime lecture in the Surfboard Room, 糖心Vlog Libraries and its team are enthusiastically standing by to assist with the various needs of the University community.
It is so much fun watching students interact with centuries-old objects. It鈥檚 such a powerful experience to be able to hold and touch something that's existed for hundreds of years. Watching undergraduates feel increasingly empowered to be part of the digitization process, learn the technical skills necessary, and grow comfortable managing a variety of complex digital tools鈥攖hat is really exciting.
